Property rewiring is one of the most important investments you can make in the safety and usability of a home or small commercial building. Old, brittle insulation, borrowed neutrals, and overloaded circuits are common in ageing installations, and they rarely cope well with today's appliances and electronics. As an NICEIC Approved Contractor with 15 years' experience, I provide both full property rewiring and carefully planned partial rewiring, depending on what your building actually needs.
A full property rewire replaces all fixed wiring, back boxes, and accessories, and usually includes a modern consumer unit with RCD and surge protection. I design the new layout so you have sensible circuit separation, enough sockets, effective lighting, and provision for future requirements such as EV charging or smart controls. This is particularly valuable before major refurbishments or when an EICR has highlighted widespread issues.
Partial rewiring is ideal when problems are localised - for example, a dated kitchen ring, unsafe loft wiring, or damaged cabling in an extension. In those cases, I target the affected circuits, bring them up to current standards, and integrate them safely with the rest of the installation. I always explain the test results and any limitations clearly, so you know what has been renewed and what remains original.
In every case, I handle the full process: initial inspection, design, installation, rigorous testing, and issue of the correct NICEIC certification. I work methodically to limit disruption, protect finishes where possible, and coordinate with other trades when part of a larger project. The outcome is a property with wiring that is safer, easier to live with, and far better prepared for the way you use electricity today.
